Realme GT Series Returns to Global Market with the GT 6
Realme founder and CEO Sky Li made the announcement that the Realme GT series is making a comeback to the worldwide market following a two-year hiatus right off the cover of Forbes. The Realme GT 6T marked the recent return of the series in India.
Li stated in the interview that “every aspect of the upcoming GT 6 will surpass expectations.” It is a “GT 6,” not a 6T. The phone’s slogan, “New Flagship Killer Powered by AI,” highlights both performance and, of course, AI.
Ignoring Li’s interview for a second, we have seen images of the retail package for the Realme GT6 (which names several AI functions). Anticipated specifications for this phone include the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which is (allegedly) more potent than the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 found in the 6T. Apart from that, the phone will have a similar 100W fast charging capability (as opposed to the 6T’s 120W, though this could vary depending on the location) and the same 5,500mAh battery, according to the FCC. It appears that a GT6 Pro is also in the works. That’s all under wraps; the phone or phones will shortly be officially announced.
Returning to Li’s interview, the CEO states that Realme has complied with the desire of its ardent global fan base to see the comeback of the potent GT series. The tagline makes it clear that this isn’t a flagship; rather, the emphasis will be on providing performance and cutting-edge features at an affordable cost.
Young users are another target market that Realme has in mind for the GT6. They typically lack the funds for a true flagship but are more aware of current technological advancements, so the GT6 positioning makes sense.
As we previously reported, Realme has expanded its market reach with the GT series, which has already made a comeback in India. A post on X states that the GT series “will be launched in Italy, India, Indonesia, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Brazil, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and more.”
Li has some intriguing predictions about the industry’s future: “Hardware will no longer be the sole differentiator in the market; software, hardware, and total technological capabilities will all play a bigger role in competition. AI is quickly emerging as the next hotly contested field. The three main areas of focus for AI development in the future will be voice, interaction, and imaging.
